Thank you for a fascinating site. I have been interested in the Cash company for a long time. It is very interesting to see all the information from someone who actually worked there.

i am trying to find more information on Arthur Llewellyn Trickett who worked for Cash all his life except for 1st world war service. He may have been a little before the time you deal with in this website, but I understand he may have been a director of the company, i/c the name tapes division. He lived 1891 to 1952, so may been still at work up to his death. Can you help?

Some of my information came from the Herbert Museum archives Coventry in 2008, since they updated the website, I've had problems.

My father Kieth Purves Clarke was a director on the asutralian company upto @ 1970 and had been since post war due to family connection. the name George Tonge seems familiar from those days.

Hi Phil, i was looking at the pages around the Company Xmas cards and i believe my grandfather Bill Checkley might have played a part in them. He retired around 1967 after working at Cash's for a long time. Didn't know if you remembered him or what he did?

Hi, I am still finding your site fascinating. I did not mention before, but I commissioned Cash's to produce two items, bookmark and card, for Riley cars, back in 1995. I had the opportunity to visit the factory, and the designers. It was remarkably interesting, the staff were all wonderful and helpful. Your site is a great tribute.

My father is pictured as the Sales rep in your photo of the exhibition his name was Alan Deeming sadly passed away now. He met my mother while working there and I myself worked in the name tape finishing room around 1979. My dad went to Australia for 6 months to help set up the Cash's factory in Leongatha and to Canada that would be around 1972 I think. We have lots of silks but sadly none of the ribbon I had as a child. If you want to get in touch please do..my mum has loads of memories to share

I was at Cash’s 1971 to 1982 and again 1987 to1989. I was working at Park Street (1 shop with Tom Smith) when your dad, Alan Deeming got back from Leongatha and resumed his position as foreman of 2 shop. He went on to be production manager and then moved to sales with Ray Edwards (ex-dyehouse manager). The last time I saw Alan he told me to never commit my loyalty to a company because it would not be returned, a very sound piece of advice from a man that I liked.

I was looking through my mother’s things after she passed I found a small box inside was printed on cloth her maiden name when she was in WW1 and stationed there. Is there a museum or a place that would like to have this. I am the only living relative now in my family. My mother was a Wave and we was so proud of her. Let me know who to contact. Thank you. Great website Pete. It was a complete accident that I found it. I left the UK in 1990 and had wondered what had happened to the Torrington Ave site. Sorry to see it was demolished, worked weekend shifts there for about 3 years and 11 years at Kingfield. Have some great memories and some not so good. Climbing ladders with 150 lb. of jacquard cards on my back and banging my head on asbestos covered steam pipes, just a couple of bad ones. I thought it might be nice to remember some of the people involved in the manufacturing side of the business.

I've just purchased a Paddington bookmark, and my research led me to your site. Loved looking and reading all about Cash's. Although I couldn't see a date for Paddington, I'm thinking it's 80's, or maybe early 90's. It's unopened but the back gives a pre-1995 phone number. Thanks for an informative site :)
